Nug of the Week: Helium by Cookies

helium strain cookies

I'm going to start off with the disclaimer that I smoked this strain literally right before writing this blog post, so as it is, this is sort of going to be a stream of consciousness analysis of how the high comes on. Helium is a fresh drop from Cookies that just came out, and it's a hitter for sure. We tried to look up the genetics, but Cookies is keeping a tight lid on this one, and for good reason - bootleggers are for sure going to try to snag these genetics. This hybrid high is as floaty as the name suggests, and I've definitely spaced out about three times while writing this first paragraph. I don't recommend smoking this strain if you have something time sensitive that needs to get done (like writing this article lol oops) but if you have a day to hang loose and need something to smoke, this should be your next pickup. The high is kind of euphoric, and Man on the Moon by Kid Cudi (which I've listened to a million times) is hitting my ears in a completely different way right now. The flavor is amazing as well - the nug is extremely gassy, and while I was smoking it, there were definitely notes of pine on the exhale that complimented that gassiness very well. While it's kind of spacey, I wouldn't describe the high as one that is going to put you to sleep. I could definitely go for a few activities right now, so here's my list of things to do around Washington this week while you're smoking on some of that Helium.

1. Tran-Siberian Orchestra - Seattle, WA

Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO) is a progressive rock band founded as an outlet for the many rock operas late rock industry veteran, producer, composer, and musician Paul O’Neill was writing. This years Trans-Siberian Orchestra Winter Tour 2021 includes two shows in Seattle.TSO was created to push the boundaries of what was possible for a band to create – both musically and visually. Paul O’Neill dreamed of a different kind of “band” that is not limited by the confines of traditional rock acts and instead established one with multiple singers who could inhabit the various characters he was writing into his rock operas. Later on he honed his impression skills by imitating anyone from his mother’s West Indian dialect or his schoolteacher’s southern drawl to the Scarface’s choppy Cuban accent. Soon after Affion combined his dance and impressionist talents to develop his stand up act. After graduating from Fayetteville State University with a bachelor’s degree in business Affion set his sights on the entertainment industry.
